Roleplay Adventures - Chat and RPG

Downtown with Keeper

Repleh:“Sir, that report, have you gotten it done yet?”

Me: “What report?”

Repleh: *sigh* “The one for the blog, sire, it is due tonight”

Me: *turns head* “Seriously?! Oh well…. Throw something together about the battle arena or the game section, I don’t know.. wing it”

Repleh: *sigh again* “Sire, I cannot fake another report, now please, stop playing your games, watching youtube videos, and do the report”

Me: “But.. so close to the next level, and I gotta make sure I don’t miss any new video releases on youtube”

Repleh: *sigh for a third time* “Sir, I will destroy that computer with a friggin sledge hammer if you don’t do the friggin report”

Me: “okay okay mister hostile…”

Me(announcer mode): “Welcome one and all to the fabulous downtown, where the hottest of the hot, the raddest of the rad, and the baddest of the bad…. What is it now Repleh?”

Repleh: “You need to be realistic sir, no half assing it. And no pulling off that announcer junk again, seriously, its old hat.”

Me: “Fine fine, I guess I can do the news reported shtick”

Welcome one and all to the downtown area, where madness is abound with curiousity and madness (no Sparta jokes, they are older than my grandma, and she was alive before the joke!). With new games almost every other day, and just over the top silliness, it is a great place to come and relax.

The madness threads are built on the sole fact of just sheer random times when people really don’t know what else to post, but have a desire to post anyway. While a bit odd sometimes, the “This is madness” subforum of Downtown forum is a great place to have a great laugh, with new poles and random facts happening every day. As well as just some of the oddest polls I have seen down there from our members that just make my day

Now, one of my more favorite parts of RPA is the game section (and not just because I am a co mod for the area), which boasts tones of interesting games. Ranging from simple Guy vs Girl who can get to the higher number, to words a pilot should never say. Zany and full of interesting events, the forum games are a great place to come and relax, to unwind and just have a ball with fellow members.

Heck, one of my personal favorites is the RPA rap battles, because of how interesting the raps get, and how hilarious the word play can be between two of them.

So, if you are ever in need to unwind and have a good laugh, come visit the downtown sections, and be ready to smile.

Friendship

RPA is great for all the roleplays and writing you could ever ask for. But of course everyone already knows that. The real RPA secret is the great friendships we have. Everyone is so friendly and nice that you really can’t be an active member without making a few friends. My best friend on the forum (Alice) and I have been friends for about 2 years now and I love her to death. She’s known as “The Sparkle of RPA” and it fits her perfectly. You can always count on her to be excited and chatty whenever you need someone to listen to you.

A great place to go and make new friends is in Downtown. You can get to know someone by asking them questions in their question thread, or you can make your own and people can get to know you. Playing games with people is also a great way to bond, who doesn’t like being silly together? The madness section is really good for being silly too, you can be totally pointless there and no one gets mad!

Another great place to make friends is doing a one x one rp. You get to roleplay with just one other person, so there’s no way you won’t become close! There’s always people asking for someone to 1x1 with them or you can open your own request thread yourself and someone is sure to volunteer. Social clubs are also a great place to meet people with the same interests as you! We have groups for all kinds of likes: anime, writing, sci-fi. You name it! In social groups you can talk to people who love what you love and build roleplays and friendships based on that! It’s a win-win situation for all, really.

So even though RPA is the best roleplaying site on the internet, it’s also the best friendship site! No one ever needs to feel alone or excluded here! So what are you waiting for? Get over here and make some new friends

So… I was asked to write up something that is close to my heart. Fairies. <3 I thought it would be fun, and expected to just ramble one about them, but much to my surprise? I found that.. I really didn’t have much to ramble about. I just love them, and believe with all my heart that they exist. It’s hard to
just expect you, dear friend, to believe so blindly based on my say so. With that in mind, I set about to find some information, that I could share with you. In the hopes that you would see them for what they are, and share my fascination with you, if only for a few moments!

Fairies are tiny, humanoid, supernatural creatures with wings. They are extremely long-lived beings known to possess magical powers such as the ability to fly and cast spells. They are also cited for their mischievous nature. So you can of course see why I am fascinated by them!

Fairies are pagan in origin and are found among all branches of the Celtic families. Once known as pagan gods and goddesses, the tradition to worship these little beings spread to France, Germany, and the British Isles. The Welsh peoples originally worked within a matriarchal society. They worshipped The Mother Goddess, and they called fairies The Mothers. Hence, Fairyland was always the Land of Women and fairies are often depicted as such, and in a most lovely way, I might add. I can’t tell you the countless pictures of absolute stunning beauty should you google them. Watch out though, some people prefer to draw them in the nude.

The Irish still say fairies live in the pagan sidh (burial mounds and barrow graves), several hundred of which still stand in the Irish countryside today. Fairies are thought to have a connection to the deadlands as well as to heaven. They have the ability to freely weave in and out of the heavens, the earth, and the underworld. Fairies are still thought to come out of their hills (fairy hills) at Samhain or Halloween. It is on my agenda to some day get to Ireland, and see them for my self. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Fairies are also often found in wooded groves. Whether in hills or woods, they all reside in the land of Tir na nog which is the Land of Eternal Youth. Mortals cannot often see fairies because of the division of the worlds, but every now and again they get a precious glimpse of them. This often will happen at twilight when the veil of the worlds is briefly parted. Travelers must be wary, however. Entering Tir na nog can be very dangerous as few mortals have been known to escape alive.

Mischievous fairies have been known to lure travelers into Tir na nog, and few of these travelers have returned. Travelers that did return often described a dreamlike state in which they spent most of their time in a curious fog. Sometimes a traveler would come back decades later only to find his loved ones had passed away, while the traveler himself was still as young as the day he entered the grove. Will o’ Wisps are illuminated fairies, pretty lights, which lead unwary travelers into this strange land, and can be avoided by refusing to follow them.

Fairy peoples are thought to have descended from the race of Elves.Elves are an ancient race of magical, slender creatures with pointed ears thought to be extinct. Unlike fairies, they lack the ability to fly, which may have made the fairies a more adaptable race. Elves were once very closely associated with the land and with nature and fairies took over many of their roles in this tradition. Fairies are now air, water, fire and tree spirits.

Throughout most of the former celtic nations : Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany and Germany, the fairies are becoming things of the past. Even though fairies are commonly believed to exist today, from the eighteenth century and on they have been seen less and less. Once firmly ensconced in the minds of men, the fairies may now be in decline. That people do not often see them any more makes some argue that the fairies will eventually disappear as men stop believing in them. I know I believe in their existence, and will continue to do so… won’t you?

Now, this tumblr is supposed to lead you back to RPA. Where I can tell you, without an ounce of hesitation, Fairies are alive and well, along with all sorts of mystical creatures and beasts. So come and find out what we’re about. Regardless of if you believe or not, you should come on by. Magic is created every day, at RPA, and I know you wouldn’t want to miss out on that!
Merry Gentry

Let’s get ready to ruuuuuuuumble!

So with 2012 finally here(less than 12 months before the aliens come) it is time for the second annual Rumble on RPA. Our returning champion, Auki, puts her title on the line, facing all comers what is sure to be an extravaganza of mayhem and chaos. It’s a battle of epic proportions. Witness the Lumbago in San Diego(don’t look at me like that, you try to find something that rhymes with San Diego). It’s the Rumble on RPA, and it’s open to all members of RPA. Join us today!

Also, I decided to start making top 100 lists on the site. You see, I do have a penchant for lists, and I love to read Top 100 lists for movies and such on different websites, and I wondered to myself…

What makes people like this AFI think they’re experts? Who the hell are PC Gamer? What makes them think they know about the world or anything in it. They aren’t members on RPA! And as anyone who’s anyone can tell you, especially Anne Bonny, RPA members are the greatest members in the world. So check ‘em out and help us decide the best of the best by people who truly matter, the members of RPA.

A New Years Message from Mysteria

With the close of a passing year we usher in a new. This last has held many fantastic times and memories for RPA. We’ve seen many great members become a part of our wonderful RPA community as well as having been saddened by the loss of one of our own, Bravado.

As we move away from the past year and into the New Year, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on one of my own personal favorite topics - peace.

Humankind has always been a species that has continually been involved in war in some form or another, since the beginning of time. While some would claim that war is a necessary evil, it is my own personal belief that it would be easier and more beneficial for our leaders to work on a unified goal of peace rather than involving our countries in unnecessary wars.

What have we, mankind become, when the people that we elect to represent us can’t bring peace about without sending our loved ones, families, friends, and mere children into wars?

As we move into this new year, I hope that we could all adapt an attitude of gratitudethat we can share this earth, hopefully in peace, universally throughout the world; regardless of race, creed, religion, color or any of the silly nonsense that people use to separate themselves because at the end of the day, when we look ourselves in the mirror, underneath all the outward differences…we are all the same and we are allequal.

In 2012, I hope that we all can look in the mirror and say “Let there be peace, and let it begin with me.”

Happy New Year, to the RPA community, and to all of those who might happen across this blog.

Peace~
Mysti

A Christmas Poem from Troy

V’s Note: Sorry I’ve been a bit slacking so this is a few days late XD

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through RPA
Not a creature was stirring, not even Siksta Slathalin
The Role-plays were left in the forums with care,
In hopes that Anne Bonny soon would be there.

The members were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of awards danced in their heads.
And Mysti in her kerchief, and Naz in his cap,
Had just settled their brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the forum there arose such a clatter,
Naz sprang from his seat to see what was the matter.
Away to the PC he flew like a flash,
Turned on the monitor and logged in at last.

The glow on the screen was like new-fallen snow
And had a luster of mid-day to subjects below.
When, what to his wondering eyes should appear,
But a thread with a sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little twitch, so lively and quick,
He knew in a moment it must be a pirate.
More rapid than lightning the mods they came,
And she alerted, and posted, and called them by name!

“Now Shepard! now, Kris! now, Wattzy and V!
On, Bia! On, Merry! on,Awean and Mary Sue!
To the top of the Forum! to the top of Downtown!
Now mod away! mod away! mod away all!”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the top-page the mods they flew,
With the sleigh full of Awards, and Anne Bonny too.

And then, in a twinkling, he saw on the banner
A house with lights and trees full of snow.
As he drew in my head, and was looking around,
Down the page Anne Bonny came with a bound.

She was dressed all in fur, from her head to her foot,
And her clothes were all girly with pink and glitter.
A bundle of awards she had flung with her avy,
And she looked like a peddler, just opening her pack.

Her eyes-how they twinkled! her glasses how merry!
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry!
Her pink little lips was drawn up like a bow,
And the hair on her head was as blonde as a canary.

She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
And filled all the RPs, then turned with a jerk.
And laying her finger aside of her nose,
And giving a nod, up the forum she rose!

She sprang to her sleigh, to her team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard her exclaim, ‘ere she drove out of sight,
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

From the staff to all its members and everyone else who may see this, may you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Confidence.

Sometimes I wonder where I would be right now if I had grown up full of confidence.

But none of that matters I guess.

It can change a person, confidence, maybe not straight away but over time. “Yes I can do this” is a much better feeling than thinking you cannot, it’s a happy feeling knowing that you can do what you want to do.

If you told me when I joined RPA way back in June 2010 that I would be as integrated into the community here, and willing to post the things that I do… Willing to run the role plays that I do. Well I doubt I would have taken you seriously. Where I am at right now is simply because of how right everything is, how I can feel confident in what I do now.

It’s taken me many years to reach this point in my life. I think that once you’re comfortable with yourself like I am now, that you can start to grow a lot. Believe that you can do things that seemed so far out of reach before.

Be confident in yourself, even if it’s hard and you don’t reach what you want.

Twisted :)

December

And finally after another year we’ve come to December.

It’s a busy month for people, getting ready for the upcoming holidays, Christmas, New Years, everything that falls at the end of the year.

So don’t be worried if you’re not around as much to post in your RP’s or hang around Downtown – or whatever you like to do.

Go out have some fun with your family for a while over the holiday season, yeah? That’s what I’ll be doing and I can’t wait to catch up with the family once again.

But if you do head away for the holidays, don’t forget about RPA, alright?

XD

Winter art contest and more

Do you feel the cold season in the air with a weak sun ray?
When the leaves depart from their trees and fly astray…
And everything turns yellow, orange and gray
Never fear dears, Because we have solution for this, here in RPA

That’s right, what can possibly warm up our hearts in the winter aside of a hot cup of tea?

Glad you asked.

To be honest, nothing like a good winter contest to warm me up all right. Well actually I can think of a few others things I can do to warm myself up but I’ll leave these thoughts for later

So…Have you been Doodling lately? Drawing secretly? Have a hidden taste for art?

Well this contest is just for you.

I’m talking about RPA new art contest

With two beautiful themes to choose from (“Winter” and “Memories”) we shall await eagerly for your beautiful works of art to be submitted to us.

You fear that you may not do well enough?

Fear not, because the entries will be judged on the following: Title; Utilization of the Theme; Originality; Impact and Effort.

So you see, this art contest is designed for images to be judged on the artist’s ideas and hard work, not their talent, which means we are looking forward on getting each and every one of you trying to show off talents.

And while you head over to RPA Creative Corner, you might want to check out our new classy “Writer’s guild” thread in the Creative writing forum

The “Writer’s Guild” thread meant to support the plethora of literacy geniuses that reside within the walls of our site. While submitting your works of literature; whether it be a poem, a snippet of your novel or a post that you are particularly proud of, we encourage all our members to offer feedback onto other people’s work and also offer constructive criticism if you ask it from us.

I’m writing this up and already feeling all fuzzy and warm inside.

Nothing like the love and art of RPA

Kris.
