Sometime all it takes is one line in a song to spark something.

I listen to a lot of heavy metal often of which bands contain fantasy or speculative lyrics. There are times when I stumble across a single line, or 2 or complete sections of these songs that just inspire me. Perhaps not to write a complete story but part of one. Part of something.

Eventually these will build up to be a full forming idea, rather than a few scenes here or there. Well I hope anyway.

There a moments in songs that I look for, something big…. or perhaps something small. A slowing down of a track, a few poetic lyrics, a few lyrics screamed out in rage, something to change what the song was before. Or some damn cool lyrics.

They make me think, and anticipate the change.

There are times when things need to change.

I think this can be used for RP’s (stories too)

I mean, what if you introduced something completely out there, something so different to what has come before in the story, something you’re players don’t expect? I’m not trying to say a plot twist.

Just something that will make people stop and think for a moment.

Well enough of my babbling… while this post may make some sense. Or something.
